Rick Ross' newest single "Diced Pineapples" was founded on concepts involving some very important life choices- including why it is important to eat more fruit and how that could eventually lead you towards finding "The One."
"Diced Pineapples" appears on Ross' fifth studio album "God Forgives, I Don't," which is set to be released on July 31.
On "Diced Pineapples," Drake provides some smooth vocal transitions and a strong-tempo chorus while Ross and Wale battle rap between verses about love and pleasure, with lyrics that not everyone may approve of or be too comfortable with listening to (readers be forewarned).
As to why the song's entitled "Diced Pineapples," fans can thank Ross' doctor for that. When Ross experienced the scare of seizures last year, at the age of 36, his doctor informed him, in Ross' own words, "'You gotta eat some more fruit, drink you some water, eat fruit and just relax for a little while."
For the next few weeks, Ross woke up every morning to a bowlful of fresh diced pineapples.
And according to Ross, that's how the concept of "Diced Pineapples" came together - "Drizzy came in, as well as Wale, and it's kinda like, 'She could be my diced pineapple. This special lady, she could be what I wake up to every morning and help me get by every day.'"
