Bella Heathcote, Sam Riley, Lily James Join Seth Grahame-Smith's 'Pride And Prejudice And Zombies!'

After being thought long dead in development hell, there has been official movement in Seth Grahame-Smith's Pride And Prejudice And Zombies. Actresses Lily James (Downtown Abbey), Bella Heathcote (In Time), and Sam Riley (Maleficent) are all set to take on the zombie apocalypse in Jane Austen's epic period classic.

In the novel of manners, Elizabeth Bennett deals with living in 19th century England, along with her four other sisters. Though they cannot stand each other, Mr. Darcy shows up to make Elizabeth rethink her views. Then, all of a sudden, the zombies rise from their graves to feast on the living.

Deadline reports the movie version of the book parody is heading into production. Principal photography is slated to begin sometime in September. The feature film has gone through a list of directors, with Craig Gillespie as one of them, and rumored actresses, Emma Stone and Lily Collins included, attached to the project. 

Burr Steers (Charlie St. Cloud) is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with David O. Russell. Smith's other book parody, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, was previously made into a movie starring Benjamin Walker and Anthony Mackie. The author also wrote Tim Burton's Dark Shadows, which reunites him with star Heathcote. 

James will be playing the playing the main role of Elizabeth, Riley stars as the charismatic but condescending Darcy, and Heathcote plays as one of Elizabeth's sisters.
