Reports confirm that actress Marilyn Burns - best known for her horrifically bloody role in the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" movie - died on Tuesday, August 5th. Burns was 65-years-old.

According to the popular gossip webloid TMZ, family members found Burns' lifeless in her Houston home on Tuesday. The cause of death still remains unconfirmed, although the city's Medical Examiner's Office will perfom an official autopsy soon.

Burns is considered one of Hollywood's most iconic "Scream Queens," thanks to her ghastly (yet heroic) role as Sally Hardesty in 1974's cult classic, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre." She later starred in a slew of other horror flicks, including "Helter Skelter," "Eaten Alive," and Leatherface's 2013 revamp, "Texas Chainsaw 3D."

Several fans have since expressed their condolences on Twitter:
