The Disney Channel series Girl Meets World, the successor to the beloved 90s series Boy Meets World, has performed well enough in its first few episodes for the network to renew the new show for Season 2.

Girl Meets World has aired just five episodes, but it has ranked as television's number one series among children ages 2-11, children ages 6-11 and tweens ages 9-14 since its premiere in June, per TVLine.

"The series swiftly became a favorite of kids and their parents, many of whom grew up with Boy Meets World," said Disney Channels Worldwide original programming executive vice president Adam Bonnett in a statement. "We're looking forward to watching Riley Matthews and Maya Hart make the world their own, as Cory and Topanga teach them life lessons along the way."

The series will start production on Season 2 in November.

Girl Meets World stars Rowan Blanchard as Riley, Sabrina Carpenter as Maya, Ben Savage as Cory Matthews, Danielle Fishel as Topanga Matthews, August Maturo as Augie Matthews, Peyton Meyer as Lucas Friar and Corey Fogelmanis as Farkle.

The show also has featured or will feature numerous Boy Meets World character appearances, including William Daniels as Mr. Feeny, Lee Norris as Minkus aka Farkle's dad, William Russ as Alan Matthews, Betsy Randle as Amy Matthews and Uriah Shelton as Joshua Matthews.

Rumors also say Rider Strong will appear as Shawn Hunter and Will Friedle will show up as Eric Matthews.
