The Inbetweeners became an instant hit in the UK so many years ago, and the British version became a success in USA, with a U.S. version being created. With their first film being such a huge hit, the cast were almost forced to do a sequel, The Inbetweeners 2, which has already set records in England. Although Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas have yet again been a hit in England, can they conquer America with this film, or will they have a shot at doing so with future projects away from the Inbetweeners brand?

The film came out on Wednesday (6 August), and it took over $4 million on its first day. The film shows the foursome enjoying Jay's gap year in Australia, and of course plenty of antics follow soon after. The film has even broken its own record, beating the first film, released in 2011, by a few hundred thousand dollars.

Buckley had been worried the fans wouldn't like this film, and it's believed he, and the others, were "paranoid" the film was going to let the series down. So far, the profit suggests the fans are happy. In fact it's doing so well, that it might just find its way to an American release once again. If not, the boys are getting far too old for this teenage series, and they may find themselves in some top Hollywood films soon.

Do you want to see the second movie, and are you a fan of the series?
