The rumors of Aquaman's appearing in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice have persisted for months, and now director Zack Snyder has added fuel to the fire by defending the character on a local radio show.

Snyder called into Detroit radio station 97.1 The Ticket because he heard the hosts making negative comments about Aquaman and felt compelled to make a few points. What he said, of course, hinted that the King of Atlantis could be in his movie.

"You guys were disparaging, a little bit, Aquaman," he said. "I don't want to give anything away about the movie or anything like that, but Aquaman has some cool abilities. People are like, 'Oh what? Does he talk to animals? Because that seems like what he does. Or fish?'

"The cool thing with Aquaman is he has his trident. You have to realize that could cut the flesh of Superman if they came in contact. That's a thing that's in the canon. He's super strong because, of course, he can exist at these super deep depths. So when he comes up here, he's crazy strong. Anyway, not to say he's in my movie or anything like that, but he has the potential to be bad ass, that's all I'm saying."

Jason Momoa, famous for playing Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones, has been heavily rumored to play Aquaman for quite some time.

In other news, longtime Batman movie producer Michael Uslan seemingly revealed Bruce Wayne's age in Dawn of Justice when commenting on the fan reaction to Ben Affleck's casting.

"We've been through this I don't know how many times already," he told app.com. "Every time a director makes a creative, out-of-the-box-thinking decision on casting, it tends to get this. I remember even the 'Iron Man' (2008) guys got it on Robert Downey Jr. initially. Of course, we got it intensely when another genius, Chris Nolan, chose Heath Ledger to play the Joker (in 2008's 'The Dark Knight'). And it was a huge outcry: 'How can a guy who just played a gay cowboy (in 2005's Brokeback Mountain) play the Joker? You're going to destroy the greatest villain ever, this is going to be a laugh.' So, this has happened time and again, and it happened with Affleck. To go back to the original thought of Bruce Wayne in his mid-40s, I think he's going to be extraordinary."

Do you think Aquaman will be in the movie? Are you surprised Bruce Wayne is only in his mid-40s? Let us know in the comments below.
