The ALS (amyotophic lateral sclerosis) Ice Bucket Challenge has been taking the internet by storm over the past few days to raise money to combat this terrible disease. While many of our Facebook friends have been getting into it, celebrities are also taking to their social media sites to spread awareness and raise money for the research.

In the videos, participants are challenged to dump freezing cold buckets of ice water over their heads or donate $100 to the cause. Most people are both participating and donating at the same time before calling out their friends and challenging them to do the same thing.

The Fault in Our Stars actor Ansel Elgort is one of the A-Listers making his voice heard in the fight against Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). He took to his Instagram account to post a video of himself doing the ice water challenge.

"ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE PART II! This is for a good cause, #als aka #lougehrigdisease research! I may scream like a girl at the end, but I donated like a man!!! (Lol) I gave 500$ today! What will you give??" Elgort wrote.

Nick Swisher, former Yankee star dared Lance Bass to participate in the challenge, who took to his Instagram page to post the following video, where he dared Darren Criss, Joey Fatone, and Miranda Sings to follow his lead.

Other stars who participated include Elizabeth Banks and Martha Stewart, who in turn dared Seth Rogen, Nathan Fillion, Jesse Tyler Fergueson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ellen DeGeneres and Blake Lively, respectively.

Martha's video can be seen below and Elizabeth's can be viewed on her website.

Other who have yet to accept the challenge include Bill Clinton, Obama,
