The late actress Brittany Murphy is coming to a TV screen near you. Lifetime has just announced that a two-hour movie about Murphy's life will air on the network on September 6. The biopic will naturally be titled, The Brittany Murphy Story.

According to The Hollywood Report, actress Amanda Fuller is set to play Brittany, while her mother Sharon Murphy, will be played by actress Sherilyn Fenn.

This is the first scripted movie about the late film star who's movie credits include such films as Clueless, Girl Interrupted, 8 Mile, and Uptown Girls, just to name a few. She passed away five years ago at the age of 32.

The film is set to tell the story of Murphy's life, starting out with her early years trying to break into the business in the 80's and will conclude with the aftermath felt by her untimely death.

The source of the scripted material for the film has not been revealed but Sharon Murphy revealed that she is in no way connected to the project about her daughter's life, and has not been consulted in any way by Lifetime.

Brittany passed away in December of 2009, and her husband Simon Monjack died a few months later. The cause of both their deaths was ruled to be from pneumonia as well as other causes.
