WWE taped the Aug. 15, 2014 edition of Friday Night Smackdown, the final show before the SummerSlam pay-per-view on Sunday. The show begins with Miz TV, hosted by The Miz with Roman Reigns as his guest.

The Miz says he wants to serve as Reigns' mentor and acts like his heelish self. Reigns promptly responds with a punch directly to the moneymaker, which gets a big pop from the crowd. These two get booked in a match for later in the night.

Dean Ambrose defeats Cesaro after a lengthy match. Seth Rollins comes out on the ramp to cut a promo after the match.

Dolph Ziggler defeats Titus O'Neil. Heath Slater argues with Titus after the match, just as they did during Hulk Hogan's birthday celebration on Monday Night Raw with the cake.

Mark Henry defeats Luke Harper by disqualification when Erick Rowan gets involved. Big Show comes out to save The World's Strongest Man and Corporate Kane books a tag team match. Big Show and Henry win by hitting their finishers at the same time.

Eva Marie again defeats Divas Champion AJ Lee after Paige comes out and distracts her SummerSlam opponent. She then brawls with Paige, who presumably gets the upper hand because officials reportedly check on AJ after the fight.

Jack Swagger squashes Bo Dallas with the Patriot Lock. Rusev and Lana come out to cut a promo. Bo also apparently cuts a promo in which he says the referee thought he was tapping out, but he was actually just reaching for the ropes. But it's all okay, because he still Bo-lieves.

Reigns defeats The Miz in the main event. Miz tries to run away but Dolph Ziggler comes out to the ramp, and Miz turns right into a Superman Punch and Reigns gets the pin.
