Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim dropped a very interesting tease on Twitter earlier this week when he revealed the script cover for Season 3, Episode 4, which happens to be the series' 50th episode. The installment is titled "The Magician," which led some fans to believe that DC Comics magician Zatanna would appear on the show. But Guggenheim dispelled that theory and offered a much larger clue that essentially gave away the answer.

"Full disclosure: 'The Magician' does NOT refer to Zatanna," Guggenheim tweeted. "That'd be awesome, but refers to a different character. Hint: @Team_Barrowman" That is the Twitter handle of actor John Barrowman, who plays Malcolm Merlyn aka The Dark Archer and who became a series regular for Season 3.

As it turns out, "Magician" is one of Merlyn's many nicknames. He has been called "Merlyn The Magician" along with "Merlyn The Magnificent," so it looks like the 50th episode will focus on the Dark Archer and, perhaps, his relationship with his daughter Thea (Willa Holland).

We saw in the Season 2 finale that Thea, who hated Malcolm and wanted nothing to do with him, decided to join him after she felt betrayed by Roy (Colton Haynes) and everyone else around her. The actors have teased a darker, more mature Thea this season, so perhaps we'll see some of that development in "The Magician."

What do you think, Arrow fans? Are you disappointed Zatanna seems to be out of the picture for now? Do you think she'll appear in the future? Let us know in the comments below.
