BOOM! Studios presents an alien invasion that readers have never experienced before. Known for his groundbreaking run on Guardians of the Galaxy, which is already making a killing at the box office, writer Dan Abnett teams up with critically acclaimed artist I.N.J. Culbard (H.P. Lovecraft's At The Mountains of Madnessfor Wild's End.

Comic books fans may remember Abnett and Andy Lanning when they put together the roster of  Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Star-Lord, Drax, and Gamora for the ragtag space team back in 2008. In 2013, the First And Only scribe then teamed up with Culbard for the highly rated Victorian zombie drama, The New Deadwardians. To see this creative team back in the sci-fi genre, readers are definitely in for a special treat.

Imagine the walking and talking critters from from George Orwell's Animal Farm taking on the Martians from H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds. In a smart take on the sci-fi lore, a quiet and peaceful rural England community ends up caught in the middle of an epic war of death and violence. Set in the 1930s, Clive, Peter, and Gilbert aren't just fighting for the survival of their animal race, they're also trying to save their friendship.

Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon is thrilled Abnett has returned to the comic book publishing company after their work on Hypernturals, "Dan is one of comics' most renowned science-fiction writers, and I can tell you that he and I.N.J are taking us on a ride that's crazy entertaining and very unexpected with Wild's End."

Gagnon continues, "I think this series is going to find a special place on the reading lists of folks who are looking for something a little different on the comic shelves every month."

Different is exactly the right word for this title. To commemorate the first issue, artist David Petersen (Mouse Guard) will contribute a special incentive cover as well.

Wild's End is expected to hit stores in September. Readers, are you excited to see animals take on aliens?
