'Lords of Dogtown' Jay Adams, Legendary Skater Dead At 53 From Apparent Heart Attack

It's a sad news for all you skateboard lovers, MStars News has learned that legendary skater, Jay Adams has died of an apparent hear attack at the age of 53-years-old.

Adams, was portrayed by Emile Hirsch in Lords of Dogtown. Adams a member of the famous Z-Boys team, made history making skateboarding the sport that it is today.

According to the NY Times, Adams died Friday in Puerto Escondido, Mexico. Allen Sarlo, a lifelong friend of the history making skateboarder was with him in Mexico, revealed that Adams spent Thursday surfing and went to bed complaining of chest pain.

Adams, was no stranger to drugs, but had recently became sober, with no history of heart issues, TMZ reports. Adams paved the way for greats like Tony Hawk, and other skateboarders today.

"Jay embodied our culture and our lifestyle all in one," Christian Hosoi, a professional skater and a friend of Adams's shared.

According to TMZ, Adams and his wife were on a long surfing holiday, when they had been in Mexico for 3 months.

This was the first time Adams had been out of the U.S. in 20 years as a result of being in and out of jail going all the way back to the 1980s due to felony drug charges. 

RIP Jay Adams.
