K. Michelle Musical: 'The Rebellious Soul Musical' Directed By Idris Elba Premiering On VH1 Tuesday At 10 PM; Singer Reveals New Show, 'K. Michelle: My Life' Debuts This Fall

Idris Elba is a great actor, and now a director in K. Michelle's TV musical, The Rebellious Soul Musical, airing on VH1, Tuesday night at 10 pm.

According to ABC, the singer thought the No Good Deed, star was joking when he requested to take on director roles for the new musical.

"I'm really good friends with Idris, and when I told him about it, he said he wanted to do it. I thought he was joking at first," Michelle said.

The 30-minute VH1 special will showcase new songs from Michelle's album Rebellious Soul, which debuted at No. 2 and No. 1 on Billboard's Top 200 albums and R&B/Hip-Hop albums charts last year.

"I told him about what I wanted to do, and he held his word," she revealed. "He never did judge me. He's a very down-to-earth person, so working with him was like working with one of my homeboys."

K. Michelle is no stranger to VH1, she is on the reality show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, and now on the show, Love & Hip Hop: New York. Michelle claims that Elba was a wonderful teacher, who also records music and has produced for Jay Z, in which a lot of fans may not know about the actor.

"I learned a lot from just his drive, and just from him being professional when it comes to his business," the 30-year-old singer shared. "I completely look up to him."

Michelle, is hoping to release her sophomore album this year, said claims that her actions on the Love & Hip Hop show made her a different person, and mature.

Michelle has also been working on a new reality show called K. Michelle: My Life coming this fall on VH1, that will reveal a different side of the singer: motherhood.

"I keep him very tucked away from TV," the mother of one son, "but this'll be the world's first time getting a little piece of my heart, my little one."

Although K. Michelle had success on TV while breaking through as a new artist, she doesn't advise others to do the same.

"If you're on reality TV and a new artist, I would say 'stay away,'" she stronger advised. "I thank God every day. This could have (gone) a whole other way for me, but it didn't."
