This week on his show, The Late Show, late night TV host and icon David Letterman addressed the news of Robin Williams' death by suicide, revealing that he and the comedic superstar were good friends for 38 years. In this touching tribute to Williams, Letterman holds back tears while talking about his friend, making sure that we all knew just how amazing the talent was and how much he'll be missed. The segment from The Late Show runs just over 10 minutes and is full of amazing quotes from Letterman about his pal Robin. Speaking about working as a struggling comedian alongside other names like Jay Leno, Letterman reminisced about the first time he saw Williams do standup.

"It was nothing we had ever seen before; nothing we had ever imagined," he explained.

Dave continues his reminiscing about Robin, laughing and smiling the entire time as he's telling millions about his friend. If anything, Letterman helped express how great Robin truly was.

"Beyond being a very talented man and a good friend and a gentleman, I'm sorry, like everyone else, I had no idea that the man was in pain, that the man was suffering. But what a guy, Robin Williams," the host tells his audience, holding back his tears.
