Stephen Angelo Simpson Arrested: Jennifer Hudson Family Tragedy, Half-Brother Stabs Estranged Wife's Boyfriend, Attempted Murder Charge Pending

Reports confirm that Jennifer Hudson's half-brother Stephen Angelo Simpson was arrested on Tuesday (August 19) after stabbing an innocent man several times in the face, arms, and chest.

Details surrounding the bloody altercation still remain unknown, but Gossip Cop reports that Simpson was angry with his estranged wife, so spontaneously attacked her new boyfriend named Charlie.

Apparently, Simpson broke into his ex's apartment in Van Buren County, Michigan and viciously saluted her new lover with a knife. Thankfully, the man is expected to fully recover. He was stabbed multiple times throughout his body and neighbors were forced to intervene. He was quickly transported to a local hospital and ultimately received 30 stitches for his wounds.

Simpson's had several run-ins with the law in the past, especially involving domestic violence. On Super Bowl Sunday (2014), he was arrested for assaulting his wife (which ultimately led to their separation). He was on probation at the time of the incident.

Reports confirm that Simpson will likely be charged with first degree home invasion and attempted murder. 

Hudson has yet to comment on the arrest. 

Back in 2008, the "I Got This" songstress experienced another heartbreaking family tragedy. Hudson's mother, brother, and young nephew were killed by her sister's estranged husband, William Balfour. In July 2012, he was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole.
