Things are about to get a little desperate on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. According to new reports former Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is set to board the FOX comedy series, which stars Andy Samberg.

According to The Wrap, Longoria is set to play, Sophia, a defense attorney in a three-episode stint during the second season of the award winning show. Not only will Eva's character go head-to-head with Samberg's character Jake in court, but she will also catch his eye causing him some sexual tension in the process.

Could this "tension" possibly cause a rift in the budding romance between Samberg's Jake and Amy, played by Melissa Fumero?

This isn't the only major actress that Nine-Nine has scored for its new season. Kyra Sedgwick is also set to stir up some drama when she makes an appearance as a rival of Andre Braugher's character Captain Ray Holt.

The star power continues as both comedian Jenny Slate, and NFL superstar Terrell Owens will both be showing their faces during the season premiered.

For Longoria, this marks her first big network role since the ending of ABC's Desperate Housewives back in 2012. However, she has certainly been keeping busy since her time as Gabrielle Solis. She serves as the executive producer behind the Lifetime series Devious Maids, a drama that's in the same vein as Housewives.

The new season of the hit comedy series will premiere on Sunday, September 28 on FOX.
