Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo is ready to get her feet wet in the world of police dramas. The star, who has been with Grey's for 11 seasons, is reportedly in talks to producer a new cop drama.

According to The Wrap, Pompeo has a first look deal through her home network of ABC, meaning that they will be the first network to deicide if they want to develop the pilot. The drama will be produced by her production company Calamity Jane.

The project, which is still untitled, will follow a wounded cop as she returns to the line of duty years after the incident. According to ABC, the series will follow Keira Burke, a Boston police office who was hurt while on duty.

"Six years later, she's return to the force as a police psychologist and now finds herself embedded in the very same precinct she left," ABC explains. "She'll bring along her new perspective on cops and solving crimes, but she's returning as an outsider, no longer a cop. Kiera will have to reconcile her two worlds and overcome her own failings from years ago- even as she starts to suspect that what really happened all those years ago may not be what it seems, and the truth may be right under her nose."

Andy Stern is being brought on to executive producer the series alongside Pompeo and her Calamity Jane partner Laura Holstein.

This is the second project that Pompeo is developing; she will also serve as the executive producer for a series on ABC Family called Debt. The premise for the show will be based on Rachel Carey's novel, which focused on the financial crisis in New York during 2008.

Fans of Grey's needn't worry as Pompeo has already signed a contract with ABC to star in the series for seasons 11 and 12, so she's not going anywhere just yet.

The new season of the medical drama will premiere on ABC on September 25.
