Miss Meadows looks like one of the most interesting concepts to a movie in a while - tackling gender roles in action films as well as providing an entertaining and layered thriller. Katie Holmes stars as a small town teacher that turns into a vigilante at night, protecting the town and the children she cares deeply about. This hot new trailer for the move - with a release date set for Nov. 14 - shows that 2014 could mark a huge step in Holmes' career.

Written and directed by Karen Leigh Hopkins (Stepmom), this new movie's run at the film festivals earlier in the year garnered a number of mixed reviews. The Hollywood Reporter criticized the title character, explaining that the move "doesn't have nearly the aim of its oddball title character in terms of hitting its satirical targets." Meanwhile The Playlist said the movie "seems to have no agenda beyond depicting a mannered young woman brandishing a gun and teaching proper manners."

But why look into early reviews when you can check out an entertaining trailer first! Watch the first trailer for Miss Meadows right here:

At the very least, Holmes looks like she's doing a marvelous job as this character and the concept is inviting. What do you think of this new trailer? Let us know in the comments section below!

Here is the official synopsis of Miss Meadows:

Katie Holmes is a sweet and proper elementary school teacher whose perfect manners and pretty floral dresses hide a dark secret: when she's not teaching at the local elementary school or tending to her garden, she's moonlighting as a gun-toting vigilante.
