Marvel Comics has catapulted the Master of Magnetism into his own solo series. Just before the upcoming AXIS crossover event, writer Cullen Bunn and artist Gabriel Hernandez Walta delver an action-packed prelude in Magneto #9

In the Marvel Universe, and as seen in the recent X-Men: Days of Future Past summer blockbuster, Erick Lensherr was once the deadliest enemy to the mutant superhero group, the X-Men. Though Eric clashed with his best friend, Charles Xavier, over their beliefs, the two always came together when help was needed.

As reported here, the Red Skull is banding together Marvel's toughest baddies, including Loki, Sabretooth, and Carnage. In the crossover event, the Avengers and X-Men have to team-up to go against Red Skull's growing army. We also mentioned as well, Xavier's mutant students have to fulfill his last request in his will.

Magneto and Red Skull have teamed up before in an alternate timeline, in Old Man Logan, but this time around, these two find themselves at odds against each other. When Eric discovers that mutants are being hauled away to the Red Skull's re-education sites, memories of his days at the concentration camps in WWII are reignited.

Things are going to get messy in "March to AXIS" when Magneto discovers Red Skull actually stole Xavier's brain for his own evil purposes.

Magneto #9 will hit stores on September 10. Readers, are you excited to see the Master of Magnetism take on Red Skull and his S-Men?
