With the anticipation growing for the new DC Comics adaptation, the CW Network has added two new cast members to the upcoming zombie/comedy series, iZombie. Actresses Molly Hagan (Unfabulous) and Judy Reyes (Devious Maids) join the growing cast with leading lady Rose McIver (Once Upon A Time).

Based on the Vertigo Comics series from writer Chris Roberson and artist Mike Allred, iZombie follows Gwen Dylan, a gravedigger by day and zombie private eye by night. In order to survive, Gwen has to feed on a dead body's brains before she starts to decompose. As her mind gets filled up with someone else's thoughts and memories, the unlicensed private investigator has to fulfill the dead person's last request.

As reported here, we know there have been some changes made for the live-action adaptation. Gwen has now been renamed "Liv Moore" for the TV show. Our female protagonist works in the city morgue, which is a great place for dead bodies to keep popping up to feed her never-ending hunger for brains.

According to Entertainment Weekly, casting changes have already been made to the pilot, which as already been shot. The Election actress replaces Nora Dunn (Three Kings) for the role of Eva Moore, Liv's mother. The hospital administrator and overbearing maternal figure watches her ambitious daughter becoming a lazy couch potato, who suddenly breaks off her engagement.

Scurbs alum guest stars as Lola Abano, an artsy bohemian who becomes the prime suspect in a murder investigation. Liv has to find out who framed Lola and discover the identity of the real killer.

iZombie will premiere on the CW during midseason. Readers are you excited to see Molly Hagan and Judy Reyes when the show officially airs?
