'Jersey Shore' Sammi 'Sweetheart' Giancola & Ronni Ortiz-Magro Break-Up "It Was For The Best"

Ronnie and Sam, if they can't make it no one can!! Today, in we didn't see this coming news, Jersey Shore stars Sammi Giancola and her on-again, off-again boyfriend Ronnie Ortiz-Magro have officially broken up. The stars of the MTV series have called it quits on their five year relationship.

PEOPLE magazine caught up with Ronnie at the premiere of his former costar, Jenni "JWoww" Farley's newest movie called, Jersey Shore Massacre, to get all the details on the split.

"We were drifting apart and not really spending any time together," Magro told the magazine of his relationship with Sam. He also explains that they split quietly nearly two months ago.

As for the rollercoaster relationship, he says that he still cares for her, but that they did the right thing by breaking up.

"I still care about her," the reality star explained. "She's a great girl, but we were growing distant. It was for the best."

As for any new prospective romances on the horizon, Ronnie tells the news source that he isn't ready for dating just yet.

While dating might not be on the table, he is excited to play his new role as uncle to JWoww's new 5-week old baby girl.

"She's really squirmy and looks just like Roger!" Margo says of Jenni and her husband Roger Matthew's newest addition to their family.

He'll also get to add uncle, to his resume in a few month's as his fellow costar Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is about to give birth to a baby girl.
