How awkward is it when you run into someone that you once wrote a song about? Well Taylor Swift knows the answer... and we are thinking it must be very awkward. The "Shake It Off" songstress, bummed into her former flame John Mayer a few nights ago when both were reportedly at the same event.

According to Hollywood Life, Swift and Mayer were both spotted leaving Chateua Marmont in Los Angeles on August 20. They departed the famous restaurant/night club around the same time, which got people wondering if the two were back on as a couple.

However, it looks like nothing could be further from the truth as a source close to Tay Tay is revealing that she was actually more than horrified to see her "Half Of My Heart" duet partner.

The former couple, who worked on the song together back in 2010, famously penned hit songs about their failed romance after the relationship went south. Swift wrote the single "Dear John" off of her Speak Now album, and Mayer penned "Paper Doll," about the pop singer, which was included on his Paradise Valley record.

"When Taylor saw John it was as if she saw a ghost," the insider revealed to The Hollywood Life. "She was horrified and, for a moment, contemplated leaving. Cooler heads prevailed and she acted as if she didn't see him but she totally knew he was there and was uncomfortable."

The source also goes on to reveal that the two didn't speak at all and ignored each other.

"In no way are the two dating, and they didn't share any conversation at all."

We wonder if Taylor will follow her hit "Dear John" up with sequel revolving around this run in.
