True Blood is about to crossover into the realm of Once Upon a Time. One of the stars of the HBO vampire series, which just ended its seven season run this past weekend, is about to make their way to Storybrooke, or should we say their return. Kristin Bauer van Straten has been tapped to reprise her villainous role of Maleficent on the fourth season of the fairytale drama

The actress, who won our hearts as Pam De Beaufort on True Blood, is about to steal the spotlight all over again as the horned villainess on OUAT. It has been more than two seasons since we last saw Kristin, but according to Entertainment Weekly, she is going to come back in a big way for the new episodes.

The entertainment site has learned that Straten will be appearing in the second half of the upcoming season, where she will be recurring in a big story arc.

It is still unclear how the writers will incorporate Maleficent back into the story as she was killed in the season 1 finale by Emma. Maybe we will see how she came to be trapped in dragon form underneath the Storybrooke clock tower?

In addition to starring on a few episodes of Once Upon a Time, Kristin also was recruited to guest star as Maleficent on an episode of the spinoff series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

It seems like the show is looking to capitalize on Disney's latest box office successes, as in addition to the return of Maleficent, the writers are also including the much-anticipated Frozen storyline in to the new season.

The new season of Once Upon a Time will premiere on September 28 on ABC.
