Boxers don't always get the best kind of attention, and the one-time champion Jermain Taylor has done nothing to help that matter. He once beat Bernard Hopkins, but now he's in trouble for using a gun to shoot his cousin. 911 calls were made, and a likely jail sentence is to follow. This family feud is likely to have a huge back-story, but could Taylor blame mental injuries from his boxing career? Other athletes have blamed their sport on their wrongdoings, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he blamed his gun drama on boxing.

His cousin was shot multiple times in Taylor's home, and it's believed he has now admitted that he indeed shot his family member. He apparently admitted the mistake once the cops arrived. The public are yet to find out what, and why the two were arguing, and why it got to the level that left Taylor believing he had no choice other than to fire many gunshots.

The 36-year-old was an undisputed middleweight champion, but he has now been arrested, and he is likely to receive a huge punishment, leaving any doubts about a possible return to boxing dead in the water. His cousin is in hospital in a bad way, but it's believed he will survive.

What punishment should Taylor receive, and can he ever restore his life back to what it was? Once a proud champion, but now likely to be a prisoner. If he blames boxing, could he have a legitimate reason to have his sentence reduced? Time will tell.
