Viewers have watched dozens of celebrities drench themselves in ice cold water, but now the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is turning super-heroic. Before the upcoming DC Comics relaunch hits shops everywhere, the creative team-up of writer Brenden Fletcher, Cameron Stewart and Babs Tarr show Batgirl joining the good cause for charity through Tumblr

Stella Bowman of Batman to Oracle challenged the comic book creators to the ice bucket challenge. Though we have seen the Pretty Little Liars and Teen Wolf cast participate in the charity event in viral videos, the creative team was unable to gather all three in front of one camera. But distance didn't stop the Batgirl team from accepting the challenge.

On his personal Tumblr blog, Stewart writes, "Since we all live in different countries, we figured we'd try something different and get Batgirl to do it for us. ;)"

In the four panel illustration, Barbara Gordon, a.k.a. Batgirl, takes a deep breath before she douses herself in freezing water. Her hesitation is understandable; it turns out the bowl in her hands actually belongs to super villain Mister Freeze.

As previously reported, Archie Comics' very own Archie Andrews also accepted the ice bucket challenge. He then nominated DC Comics' Batman, Marvel Comics' Wolverine, and Dark Horse Comics' Hellboy to participate in the charity event.
