Filmmaker Martin Scorsese plays a huge role in the world of music as well as movies. He made The Last Waltz and Shine a Light (to name a few), so we're very excited to hear he's making a new film about The Ramones. This can't be a documentary like the other films above, but we can definitely expect an amazing project considering the director's love for music and ability to bring it to life on film.

Scorsese is also turning Shutter Island into a TV series for HBO entitled Ashecliffe. Find out more on this HERE!

With Johnny Ramone's death earlier this year, the band's joint estates were reunited for such opportunities as books, TV shows, documentaries and Scorsese's feature film. Billboard ran a piece on this news, speaking with Jeff Jampol, who co-manages the band's estate. Among this exciting film project, Jampol explained how The Ramones would live on in other mediums.

"You're gonna see some really interesting combinations of music and new music and remastered music and apparel," he said. "As far as the apparel goes, and really everything, as a company, for me, authenticity is the foundation of everything. And luckily, when you have a really genius artist like the Ramones you don't have to spin it. It is what it is and what it is is a beautiful moment in time that sparked a revolution in music and in fashion. So you look at 76 when the Ramones first album came out, and that really sparked that brand new wave of what I call the American rock and roll wardrobe, which is jeans, white t-shirt, leather jacket and sneakers."
