Robert Downey Jr Praises 'Guardians Of The Galaxy': 'Iron Man' Says 2014 Blockbuster Is 'Best Marvel Movie Ever'

Guardians of the Galaxy has received plenty of great reviews ever since hitting theaters this summer, but perhaps the highest praise comes from Marvel's own Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. When asked about the latest film under his comic book movie umbrella, the Avengers: Age of Ultron star called it the "best Marvel movie ever" - and that includes the 4 he's already starred in!

"Galaxy in some ways is the best Marvel movie ever," he told The Toronto Sun. "And it's odd for someone with - on occasion - an ego the size of mine to actually say that! We're talking about how the Iron Mans and the Thors and the Captain Americas and the Avengers movies have afforded Marvel the opportunity to essentially take what was a third-tier, minor, kind of upstart bit of potential from one of their comic books series and say: 'Look!' "

Furthering his point about why he and pretty much the entire world loved the 2014 summer blockbuster, Robert submitted a fun little analogy:

"It's like you have a great quarterback, and his brother plays for another team, and then you say: 'Look, this is their second cousin and we think he has a great arm and he should start.' And then he goes and wins the Super Bowl!"
