Man United's Rooney has been confirmed as England's captain, days after becoming the Manchester United captain too. However, his young teammate Zaha has returned to Crystal Palace on loan. He might not mind though, with superstar Di Maria here to help. Di Maria had his 'welcome to United' press conference, and he has insisted he wants trophies.

Di Maria explained "I like the team and I wanted to come here even though they're not playing in the Champions League. I want to help the team get into the Champions League. I'm pleased with the manager for choosing me to come to Manchester United." Real Madrid have also let Alonso leave, right after Di Maria's departure. The veteran has joined UCL rivals Bayern Munich. The 32-year-old will finish his career with Bayern it seems.
