The Season 7 finale of The Big Bang Theory ended with Sheldon (Jim Parsons) at the train station waiting to depart for parts unknown as his world unraveled around him. Fans did not know where the neurotic doctor would end up, but the Season 8 premiere description has answered that question.

TVLine reports the Season 8 premiere, entitled "The Locomotion Interruption," will feature a road trip to pick up Sheldon from his trip. "Leonard and Amy take an unexpected road trip to Arizona to pick up Sheldon," the description reads. "Meanwhile, Penny interviews for a job at Bernadette's company and Howard is weirded out by Stuart's relationship with Mrs. Wolowitz."

TVLine previously reported why Penny and Leonard likely won't be getting married this year, and the reason ties into the Season 8 premiere description. "I can't say for sure, but I doubt it," showrunner Steve Molaro told the site. "They're in a great place. They're the kind of couple where they can be engaged for a while and that's fine."

Part of the reason for the delay is Penny will have some new career opportunities when Season 8 begins. "In the first episode back [on Sept. 22], she will embark on a brand new career, and that will be taking up a lot of her time and energy," Molaro said. "Bernadette has helped to get her a job as a pharmaceutical sales rep at her company. She is going to put her failed acting career on the backburner for a while."

Lo and behold, Penny will be "extremely well suited for" her new job "whether she realizes that yet or not," Molaro revealed. But how does the waitress-turned-actress know how to sell medication? "She's cute and flirty and gets along with people, and she's great at memorizing lines," he said. "This is a job that will fit her personality and talents well."
