Tony Stewart's Atlanta Motor Speedway Return After Kevin Ward Jr's Tragic Death!

After the fatal car accident at Canandaigua Motorsports Park, Tony Stewart will once again return to the main stage to race at at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Though there is no criminal investigation going into the death of competitor Kevin Ward Jr., is the NSCAR driver ready to get back into the car after such a publicized tragedy? 

As we mentioned here, during the rrace, Ward was trying to make the turn when his wheels spun out of control. With his vehicle parked on the side, the race car driver stepped out and marched onto the track, while the cars whizzed past by him. Unable to avoid him, Stewart's No. 14 unexpectedly struck Ward, killing him instantaneous.  

Before the reach will start on Sunday, August 31, Stewart will hold a press conference at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on August 29, 1 p.m., followed by NASCAR president Mike Helton at 2 p.m.The three-time Sprint Cup Series champion has dropped out of a few race since the incident and secluded himself away from the media. 

According to USA Today, NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer Steve O'Donnell states, "NASCAR has remained in constant contact with his race team and we will stay very close to this situation as Stewart returns to competition."

Is it too soon though for Stewart to return to race? As mentioned here, Kevin Ward Sr. is still grieving over the loss of his son and nothing will ever that empty void.
