One of the highlights of Season 2 of the CW's Arrow was the formation of the Suicide Squad, a group of villains under the control of Amanda Waller and A.R.G.U.S. The group got their own dedicated episode in the latter half of the second season, but star Stephen Amell wants more for them.
Amell appeared at FanExpo Canada 2014 recently and answered some questions about several Season 3 topics, including Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer and Grant Gustin as The Flash. One of his more interesting answers related to the Suicide Squad. He referenced Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and its connection to Marvel's Agent Carter and said he would like a similar schedule for Arrow and the Suicide Squad.
"I would love, instead of doing 23 episodes of Arrow, I would love to do like 17, and in the middle of the year we can do six episodes of the Suicide Squad," he said.
It's an interesting idea, and the network could go for it, especially because there are rumors of a Suicide Squad show. Arrow already has a spinoff in The Flash, but a show based on the villain group could fill the time during the winter break.
