It's almost that time of the year again. The Fall TV season is beginning and with that comes a slew of new shows. We have learned today that The Travel Channel has paved the way for five new series to make their way to the airwaves soon. The network is looking at bringing on five new series and specials that will connect "viewers to a world of cultural experiences, adventures and explorations."

President of The Travel Channel, Shannon O'Neil made the announcement earlier today.

"We believe that our new series illustrate the expansive range of travel entertainment by informing, engaging and inspiring our audience. Our shows not only introduce viewers to new places and cultures around the world, they spotlight the surprising similarities that connect us all," O'Neill explained. "Our mission is to provide our audience with transformative programming that provides a gateway and personal portal to experience the world."

The following are the series that will be making their way to the network:

Hello, Goodbye- This series will explore "some of life's most precious moments as regular, everyday people arrive and depart from an airport terminal." The series will look at both the heartwarming and heartbreaking moments shared by friends and family members from different walks of life as they make their way through the airport.

Hotel Showdown- This show, "squares four different hotels against one another in a winner- take-all competition." Contestants will spend one night at the rival hotel's property and they will be asked to rate different parts of their experience. In the end the highest rated hotel will take home the $25,000 prize.

Metropolis- This series will focus on different cities around the globe and will focus on the hidden secrets that each locale has to offer travelers. "Hidden secrets to signature foods to cultural idiosyncrasies, viewers are granted extraordinary access to each location through stunning graphics, stylized re-enactments and interviews with famous locals."

Only Happens In...- This show will take viewers into the unique cultures and practices that could only happen in specific locations around the world. Whether that is taking viewers to a restaurant in Japan where robots are the waiters or seeing runners competing in minus-50-degree Ice Marathons in Russia, this series will definitely show off some amazing events and cultures.

TV Planet- This show "explores the weirdest, wildest and most dangerous television programs this planet has to offer." Journalist, Karla Cavalli, will travel the global investigating and often participating in strong TV phenomenon including a Japan's game show where blindfolded contestants need to find a singular chair in a large room.
