The singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow has been granted a temporary restraining order against 45-year-old Phillip Gordon Sparks, claiming that he has made public threats towards her online and on Facebook.

Sparks has accused the 50-year-old songstress of supposedly stealing money from him and breaking into his house, prompting him to make open threats on his Facebook page. Crow also claims that Sparks recently told a worker at an entertainment union (at the Screen Actors Guild) that he was going to "just shoot" her.

Sparks also insists that Crow and movie producer Harvey Weinstein were harassing him to keep quiet about a failed reality show.

In Crow's temporary restraining order petition she states, "All of these allegations are, of course, totally false." She filed her complaint last Tuesday in L.A. Superior Court.

According to Crow in the petition, it appeared to her that Sparks "was deeply disturbed because his [Facebook] posts were delusional, rambling, filled with profanity and laced with angry rants."

Included in the petition Crow seeks protection for her immediate family, in-laws, nanny, assistant, and managers.

Since the petition's approval last week (July 24), Sparks is required to stay 100 yards away from Crow, her family, and her immediate production team.

According to E! Online, a court hearing is scheduled for Aug. 14 on whether or not the temporary order should be made permanent.

Crow, known for her pop and country rock hits including 1993's "All I Wanna Do" and 1996's "If it Makes you Happy," is the mother of two adopted boys. She recently found out in November 2011 that she has a meningioma, a kind of brain tumor which is usually benign. In February 2006, Crow was also treated for breast cancer.
