NBA superstars often like to out-do one another both on and off the court, and it seems Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook is no exception. The star point guard has proposed to Nina Earl, and rumours suggest he's hoping to better Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union's recent wedding. On top of that he wants to become the face of the NBA, replacing LeBron James, with Nina replacing Savannah James. Then, evidently, he will be looking to push his Thunder team to an NBA title, and of course, both Wade and James might yet again be in his way.

The star guard had an engagement ring made, and it's believed to be a 6-piece elongated cushion cut ring with VVS clarity, with a total worth of around $700K. With the ring topping many others, it's likely that his wedding will attempt to top the one held by Wade and Union in Miami. The pair had been together a long time, but on Wednesday night he popped the all important question, and she quickly said yes.

The engagement and wedding will have evident importance to the star, but he along with Kevin Durant will be preparing for the 2014/15 NBA season, desperately trying to show their in the same class as Wade and James, or perhaps an even better one.
