Director Bryan Singer and the cast and crew of X-Men: Apocalypse will head back to Montreal, where he filmed X-Men: Days of Future Past, to film the sequel in April, according to a new report.

The Journal de Montreal reports Singer and company will be back in April and set construction will start in December. The report says the crew will make use of Mel's Cite du Cinema, the 27-acre studio where they filmed Days of Future Past. For the last movie, they built 40 sets on site, the largest of which was the exterior of a monastery that encompassed all 36,500 square feet of Mel's Studio H. The crew also filmed at almost 40 different locations throughout Montreal.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be just the second film in the series to shoot in Montreal, as most of them were filmed in Ontario and British Columbia. X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine were both shot in Australia.

In related news, fans remember Chinese actress Fan Bingbing had a small but rather cool role in Days of Future Past, and she'll be back for the sequel!

Bingbing spoke to TheStar.com through a translator and said that she will be around for the next four films in the X-Men franchise. "I am contracted to appear in the next four X-Men films and it's going to be really amazing," she said. "In 14 years since the X-Men films started, this is the first time an Asian mutant is in the film. So, it's going to be really interesting. In the comics, Blink is a Caucasian girl, so I was curious why Bryan wanted an Asian to play the role. He said that it's time for Blink to make an appearance and, for her debut she has to be simply marvelous. It was an offer I couldn't refuse."

Far be it for me to correct Bingbing, but she was not the first Asian mutant to appear in the movies, as Kelly Hu starred as Lady Deathstrike in the forgettable X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Unless, of course, she meant the first Asian member of the actual X-Men team.
