Fans of the CW's Arrow learned Ra's Al Ghul would be the Big Bad for Season 3 during Comic-Con in July, and now the show has attached a face and a name to the villain, as Matt Nable will join the show to play the character.

Star Stephen Amell confirmed the news when he tweeted "Please welcome Matt Nable to Arrow. You know who he's playing." He attached a picture of Ra's from the comics to the tweet.

The character will first appear in the fourth episode of Season 3 entitled "The Magician." This is also the 50th episode of Arrow. This depiction of Ra's describes him as "The leader of the League of Assassins and father of Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law), Ra's is proud and unforgiving. A ruthless strategist, a master of martial arts and a shaper of history, Ra's carries the wisdom of the ages and protects some of its greatest secrets."

Nable is perhaps best known for his work opposite Vin Diesel in Riddick, but he also starred on a few TV shows that had brief runs such as Bike Wars: Brothers in Arms and Underbelly.

Amell confirmed the news just hours after a new trailer for Season 3 debuted, which you can view below. The trailer offers the first look at Komodo, as well.

What do you think of Nable's casting? Are you familiar with his other work? How do you think he will do as Ra's Al Ghul? Let us know in the comments section.
