Triple threat that is Meredith Vieira, a journalist, talk show host and game-show host will take another stab at daytime television with The Meredith Vieira Show airing Sept. 8.

According to TV Guide her new superiors at NBC Universal let the broadcast journalist pick her own producer and band. They even opted to let her pick the set design which includes what looks like a replica of her own living room; kids' drawings done by her now-adult children will decorate the set walls.

Her live band will comprise of four women, one of who will be Vieira's sidekick on the show, E Street Band drummer Everett Bradley.

The press release sent out by Vieira's reps state, "Vieira draws on her rich experience as a news anchor, journalist, wife, mother, caregiver, friend and pet lover to create the ultimate daytime viewing destination."

Her popularity not only stems from her journalistic background, but also her relatable life. She doesn't just live a posh lifestyle most think. Her husband, former news producer, Richard Cohen suffers from multiple sclerosis and blindness.

In 1989 when Vieira was only 35 she was the youngest correspondent ever hired by 60 Minutes.  Two years later she decided to leave CBS and work part-time as she had her second child.  Executive producer, Don Hewitt refused to let her do this. From this sparked an outrage and countrywide debates from others that disagreed wholeheartedly with Hewitt's choice.

She may be known to many as one of the original panelist on the daytime talk show, The View, in 1997.  From 2002-2013 the host changed her title to game-show host on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. She also helped keep NBC's Today morning show at No 1 for five years.

With her impressive and inspiring resume Vieira will earn a base salary of $5 million according to Comcast-owned NBC Universal. The show will have 15 episodes already filmed by her Sept. 8 debut. And cost a reported $35 million for the first year's production.
