It looks like one of Hollywood's biggest hunks is teaming up with one of cinema's greatest legends for a raunchy comedy that used to be entitled "Dirty Grandpa." Zac Efron and Robert De Niro are set to star in the newly titled Driving Dick Kelly, which isn't as great of a title but we'll take it!
We know both actors are capable of comedy, even on the raunchier side of the spectrum. Efron saw great success with 2014's Frat comedy Neighbors and De Niro has a long list of comedic roles under his belt. Teaming up these two big names is a great idea.
As of now, Driving Dick Kelly does not have distribution, but we're pretty sure it will get picked up pretty quickly considering the leading men on the film.
The Wrap broke this news, also naming the director, Dan Mazer. The website reports:
John Phillips wrote the script, which follows a lascivious, recently widowed Army veteran (De Niro) who tricks his uptight grandson (Efron) into escorting him to Florida for spring break. Mazer co-wrote "Borat" and "Bruno" with Sacha Baron Cohen, and he also served as an executive producer on "The Dictator." He most recently wrote and directed the romantic comedy "I Give It a Year," which starred Efron's "Neighbors" co-star Rose Byrne.
