With The Strain getting scarier and more action-packed with its growing vampire army, FX has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette. Based on the best-selling series by Dark Horse Comics from visionary director Guillermo Del Toro, actors Sean Astin, Kevin Durand and co-writer Chuck Hogan discuss "The Downfall of Jim Kent."

In our recent recap, Ephraim Goodweather (Stoll) lost a member of his small team and unexpectedly gained someone new at the same time. While trying to save his friends, Jim (Sean) was suddenly stung by one of the bloodsuckers. Eph tried to stop the vampire infection but the parasitic white worm multiplied inside his best friend.

Hogan explains the shocking turn of events, "You're invested in the character, but you're also really worried about them, because things do happen."

People who have read the Dark Horse comic would have already known Jim meets his demise in the book. Even if you were a follower, you wouldn't have expected Vasiliy Fet (Durand) to have pulled the trigger and shot Jim in the head.

Durand continues, "Fans of the book knew that it was coming along. But for those of you who haven't read the books, and I'm sure this is pretty shocking, you're going to hate my face right about now."

When Astin signed up for the series, he already knew his character was going to die, but "It doesn't get easier. You're still dying. You're going to be away from all the friends you've made. It's a travesty."

We also reported on the upcoming episode of "The Disappeared." How will Goodweather deal with Jim's loss? We will also see more flashbacks from Abraham (David Bradley)'s tortured past.

The Strain airs Sundays on FX at 10pm. Readers, are you excited to see the next episode, "The Disappeared?"
