While Marvel Comics fans are anxiously awaiting for the premiere of Marvel's Agent Carter on ABC, expectations are high with the upcoming spy series. Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo discuss what's in store for lead actress Hayley Atwell as her first season is about to became an "eight-hour movie."

As we mentioned here, the co-directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier will contribute to the second and third episodes. Usually a TV show on a primetime network has to fill in approximately 22 episodes. But the episode order for Agent Carter is at eight, similar to most cable channel miniseries.

In an interview with Collider, Joe Russo explains why the shorter season will benefit the show in the long run, "Eight episodes is great because it's a period show, so it allows them to have a larger budget. Eight's the right number, eight is an eight-hour movie. Everything makes sense about it; I'm glad that it's being done in this format."

The writing will be more contained and subplots will not be unnecessarily drawn out. Each episode will be serialized, meaning there will be cliffhangers and plot twists at every corner.

Joe Russo, who has worked on 22 episodes on NBC's on-again, off-again Community, adds, "It's easier to maintain quality over a lower amount of episodes."

We also reported here that actors Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill) and Enver Gjokai (Dollhouse) have joined the cast. The Fruitvale Station actor has been recruited for the role of SSR Agent Jack Thompson and the Would You Rather horror actor will play the role of SSR Agent Daniel Sousa.

Marvel's Agent Carter will premiere when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is on its mid-season break. Readers, are you excited to see what directors Joe and Anthony Russo have in store?
