World Cup champions Germany are back in business, preparing for the next title conquest, Euro 2016. Of course they have a two-year qualifying campaign to get through first, and first up was the tough test of beating Scotland. The Germans, led by Thomas Muller, were able to hold off Scotland, and key man Ikechi Anya, winning 2-1. Scotland will take heart, knowing they nearly took a draw from one of their toughest matches, but losing that one point could also prove to be a huge blow. Can Germany add Euro 2016 to their World Cup trophy?

Muller scored during their first-half domination, and Scotland were a bit lucky to remain so close. However, in the second half they upped their game and Anya scored to tie the game, however, their joy would prove to be short lived as Muller took advantage of their bad defending to grab the winning goal. Germany will rest easy knowing they took 3 points, resisting the advances of a tough Scottish side.

Germany's squad was slightly weaker than the one that won the 2014 World Cup, but they were still impressive in certain spells of the match. However, Scotland are considered a far weaker opposition, so they're likely to need a much improved performance if they're to go far at Euro 2016.

Can Scotland qualify for Euro 2016, and can Germany win the tournament? There's a long way to go, but both teams could end up qualifying for the 2016 tournament. Will Muller cement himself as the world's best player during that time?
