Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka Celebrity Wedding- 'How I Met Your Mother' Star & Boyfriend Marry In Italian Wedding

How I Met Your Father is more like it. How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris was married over the weekend in an intimate wedding ceremony to his longtime partner David Burtka. The Hedwig and the Angry Inch star and Tony Winner said "I do" to his fiancé, who have been dating for more than 10 years.

The 41-year-old actor and his 39-year-old husband, who are the proud parents of twins Gideon and Harper, were both dressed incredibly well as they walked down the aisle in custom made Tom Ford tuxes. Pam Fryman who worked as a producer on HIMYM, officiated over the wedding of her pals, while Elton John performed at the reception.

"We happily confirm that Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka were married in Italy in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their close friends and family," a representative for Harris told E! New.

Neil also confirmed the news himself, by posting a snapshot of the wedding on his Twitter account. The photo shows the two looking happy as they take each other as husbands during a sunset ceremony overlooking the Italian hills.

Harris captioned the image, "Guess what? @DavidBurtka and I got married over the weekend. In Italy. Yup, we put the 'n' and 'd' in 'husband'," the star tweeted.

It makes sense that Harris took to the social media site to announce the wedding, as that is where he originally broke the news of the couple's engagement back in 2011, after marriage equality was legalized in New York.
