Alicia Keys and One Direction Perform at 2012 MTV Video Music Awards

Alicia Keys will take the stage at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on September 6. She will debut her brand new material.

This is not the first time she released a new single at the VMAs. She told MTV News, "Debuting a new song at the VMAs is definitely special. I debuted 'No One' at the VMAs - it was the first time anyone in the world heard 'No One.' It's the perfect setting. It's the right energy. It's the right vibe. People are so excited about the night of music and hearing different styles that it just goes over really well. I can't wait!"

British boyband One Direction also confirmed their performance. Liam Payne told MTV News that the boys are excited about their first VMAs experience. "We're really looking forward to the VMAs. It's quite nerve-racking as well, because obviously there's been so many historical moments and stuff that have happened at the VMAs. Now we want to make a moment ourselves, but who knows?"

Harry Styles added, "It's a big occasion to perform at the VMAs, and we're here for our fans. So this one's for our fans."
