One world that has often been used to describe F1 driver Michael Schumacher is "legend", and to this day he's adding to that reputation. In December 2013 he visited France, but the trip ended horrifically as he head a near-death experience after suffering a skiing accident. For a long while it looked like he'd be very lucky to survive, but after being sent to a Swiss hospital in June, he's done just that, and now the former Formula One star is going to complete his long, hard recovery at home.

In June, Michael came out of his medically induced coma, but now he's returning to his family home in Gland, Lake Geneva, where he will rest and complete his recovery. Sabine Kehm explained more: "Henceforth, Michael's rehabilitation will take place at his home. Considering the severe injuries he suffered, progress has been made in the past weeks and months. We ask that the privacy of Michael's family continue to be respected, and that speculations about his state of health are avoided,"

Although there's a long road ahead in his recovery, it seems yet again he's achieving the impossible, fighting every inch of the way. It's a strange turn of events as it seems like just yesterday he was speeding around the F1 racetrack, but now he's resting, hoping he can recover. It's believed there could still be further complications, but so far everything's gone better than anyone had expected.

Here's hoping Michael has a speedy, full recovery. What's your favourite racing memory involving Michael?
