We recently learned that Pirates of the Caribbean 5 (allegedly titled Dead Men Tell No Tales) would hit theaters in 2017 with a release date set for July 7. Star Johnny Depp is returning to his role of Captain Jack Sparrow, but what about other returning cast members? Well, a new interview with Orlando Bloom revealed that the Hobbit actor is definitely open to returning to the franchise!

"There have certainly been some discussions about it and I'm open to it," Bloom said at an Oz Comic Con discussion panel this week.

Clearly this isn't a confirmation, but we now know that Bloom is at least taking the possibility seriously.

"That whole experience working with Johnny and (director) Gore (Verbinski) was really amazing for me," he said. "I had a great time working with Johnny, one of the reasons I jumped at the opportunity (to be in the first Pirates) was because Johnny was involved. I was such a massive fan of Johnny Depp growing up so to get up close and personal to Johnny and see how he worked as an actor was just a massive gift."

So do you want to see Bloom back in the film franchise? Let us know in the comments section below!

Meanwhile, if he does come back, Bloom will be without his love interest from the first few films, Keira Knightley. Back in June of this year, she revealed she wouldn't return for another film.

"I have no idea, I don't know what they're doing," she said. "My time has definitely passed, I loved it, it was an amazing experience but I won't be going back."
