Denzel Washington and Antoine Fuqua combine to make a great filmmaking team. The star and director of Training Day and this month's The Equalizer were in early talks to join the movie remake of The Magnificent 7, and have since been confirmed! With these two big names signed on for the project, it is only be a matter of time before the Seven rounds out with talented stars, don't you think?

Variety reports:

Their next teaming won't be as long in coming. Fuqua confirmed that he will be partnering with Washington on a remake of "The Magnificent Seven." Fuqua said part of his attraction to working together is Washington's aversion to the trappings of stardom.

"Denzel's all about the work," Fuqua said. "He's all about the acting. He's an actor. He'll tell you himself, 'I'm not a movie star, celebrity, something else, I'm an actor.'

He added: "He steps on a set that's what he is and that's what he gives you. He gives his heart."

According to Deadline, True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto drafted the script for this remake, and then John Lee Hancock rewrote it. Meanwhile, Denzel and Antoine's next film, The Equalizer, hits theaters Sept. 26., but already has a sequel in the works. Clearly the early reviews of the film have distributors happy with the re-teaming of these two talents, so this upcoming remake is sure to be another great project.
