Dave Bautista Will Reportedly Have Significant Avengers 3 Role, But What About WWE Return?

The latest news about WWE Superstar and Hollywood actor Dave Bautista contains information about both careers, so we've got something for everybody today! According to the latest news from wrestling dirt sheets, aka rumor mills, Batista will have a significant role in The Avengers 3.

Batista played Drax the Destroyer in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, which has had wild success at the box office. And according to PWMania, Batista is about to get paid for it. "Marvel Studios are currently restructuring his contract that will likely see him get more money due to the success of Guardians of the Galaxy." The site then states the studio is locking him into a multi-picture deal, which is nothing new for Marvel. But the next bit is the intriguing one. "Batista is slated for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 as well as the third Avengers movie, where he will have a significant role."

This would make sense considering Drax wants to take out Thanos, who has long been rumored as the "end boss" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far.

For the wrestling fans out there, PWMania reports Hollywood executives do not want him to wrestle anymore because an injury could derail any movie plans they have in place. This happened to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who was hurt in his match against John Cena at WrestleMania 29 and had to delay the start of filming on Hercules.

"They feel that he didn't get what he was promised and feel that WWE dropped the ball by not letting him use some of his own ideas to get himself over," PWMania reports. "Batista has expressed some of these same frustrations but it's said that he does want to return. The two sides are in talks but WWE will be coming second to his movie career."

PWInsider also reports Batista wouldn't be back until 2015, and even then it might just be for a short run to say goodbye to the fans. One possibility, which Batista has discussed publicly, is a match against Triple H, which would likely happen at WrestleMania 31.
