Nene Leakes, Drea Kelly, Evelyn Lozada, Gabrielle Union And More Speak Out About Domestic Violence Following Ray Rice Elevator Attack On His Now Wife, Janay Palmer

This week has truly been a crazy after new video emerged of Ray Rice knocking out his then fiancee Janay Palmer, leading up to his termination from the Baltimore Ravens, and the NFL.

Celebs, athletics, entertainment reporters, and more have spoken out about this weeks trending topic but it doesn't take the pain away from some of our favorite women in showbiz, in fact Rice's case brings up old scars.

Sister 2 Sister reflected on some of the deepest interviews they had with some of our favorite celebs, who have been a victim of domestic violence as well.

Singer KeKe Wyatt, has a track record of being involved in a domestic relationship said, "I wasn't the abuser. I was the one being abused." She continued, "You don't know who you gon' marry, who's going to decide to just choke you to death one day...You don't know when you marry somebody, but I will say that the signs were there."

"It is very, very difficult to get out of that. As strong as I am, it was hard for me to get out of, NeNe Leakes revealed back in 2012. "I will not be abused. I refuse to be abused. I feel like I've come out so much stronger from being in an abusive relationship."

"Women are being more vocal because women are starting to support other women," Andrea shared in 2012. "When you feel like you have that support system, you're more likely to speak up. If you feel like everything is falling on deaf ears, you think, 'What's the point?'"

"I just want women to love themselves enough to leave," Evelyn Lozada tweeted this week after the Ray Rice video surfaced.

"It's all fun and games until it happens to your momma, your sister, your wife, your daughter," Gabrielle Union stated back in 2013.

"It happened back when I was in college and it really was, for me, for a lot of women, it's an issue of not loving yourself," Christina, of Atlanta Exes said. "When you love yourself, you don't allow other people to mistreat you."

"I've been a victim of domestic abuse," Taraji recently revealed in a interview with MSNBC. "I think sometimes you need to know when to walk away...Keep your hands to yourself, and I think sometimes women have to learn they have to keep their hands to themselves, too. When you match masculine energy with masculine energy, that's what you're going to get, but at the end of the day, you still teach your sons: walk away."

"Abuse can often be mistaken as passion," Former RHOA star, now Hollywood Divas star, Lisa Wu said in 2009. "No. That wasn't passion. That was abuse...You can survive and move on."

"There are so many women who are in a position and they don't want to say anything because they are either afraid or thinking, 'If I do this, I'm going to look like a fool' and won't even file a claim when they should," Lisa Raye shared with Essence.com in 2009. "I'm supposed to be here to shed light."

"I slept with a knife under my bed out of fear because I didn't know who was walking into my room," the former Basketball Wives: LA star said during a appearance on Anderson in 2011. "I was willing to go through the emotional turmoil of putting a knife under my bed and walking on eggshells when he was drunk because I still wanted my daughters to love their father."
