5 Ways Dwayne Johnson, The Rock, Is Perfect As DC Comics Super-Villain, Black Adam, In 'Shazam' Movie! [WATCH]

Warner Bros. announced they were bringing another comic book character, Captain Marvel, to the big screen. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has signed up to to be in another DC Comics superhero movie, this time playing Shazam's arch-nemesis, Black Adam.

As reported here, we had many reasons to be excited about the Hercules action star being in the upcoming DC Comics adaptation. Now that audiences finally know who he's playing, we have five reasons for you to be excited about the Scorpion King as DCU's big time baddie.

1) Root For The Bad Guy

In the Forever Evil storyline, Black Adam is responsible for moving the moon with Sinestro to defeat Ultraman. The two villains didn't care their act of good will led their criminal acts being wiped out. Black Adam loves being the bad guy, which The Rock is going to relish.

2) Franchise-Maker

The WWE superstar is the go-to guy when you want to press refresh on a franchise. The professional wrestler rebooted G.I. Joe with Retaliation, rejuvenated Fast & The Furious, and helped reboot Journey to the Center of the Earth.

3) LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

On the official twitter to Lego Batman 3, there was already excitement about the announcement. The tweet states, "Can you smell what Black Adam is cooking? @TheRock #Shazam #LEGOBatmanGame" Before the movie comes out, gamer will get a chance to play as the super-villain.

4) Built-In Audience

In the comics, Billy Watson is a wimpy little kid who becomes the bulked-up Shazam. What kid doesn't imagine themselves as a superhero taking down the bully? Parents will be bringing their kids to watch this movie; even Johnson has his own cult following of viewers who will watch any movie he's in. Can you say ca-ching?

5) Big Fight Scenes

The battles between Black Adam and Shazam are epic in scope. We're going to get tons of explosions, buildings crashing, and knockouts. In those action sequences, Shazam will throw his lightning bolt against Black Adam's shockwaves.
