Eminem vs. Benzino Beef Reignited: 'Rap God' Ignores 'LHHATL' Apology On Instagram/Twitter, Reexamine Epic Hip-Hop Feud & Diss Tracks [LISTEN/WATCH]

Back in early 2000, (then) up-and-coming Detroit emcee Eminem got into a heated feud with popular hip-hop producer, Raymond 'Benzino' Scott. Here's how it all went down.

Back then, the "Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta" star co-owned the famous music magazine, The Source. Slim Shady released The Marshall Mathers LP in May 2000 - the album only received "2/5 mics" from Benzino and his crew. Em was not pleased, so he mocked The Source in some new songs. Typical Shady behavior - no biggie, right?

Well, Benzino later retaliated by releasing some "diss tracks" aimed at the "Rap God" lyricist. He then granted his short-lived rap group's album (Made Men, Classic Limited Edition) with "4/5 mics." The band later appeared on a cover issue.

So Eminem and his posse (including fellow Shady Records artists 50 Cent, Obie Trice, and D12) bashed The Source and its credibility. The magazine was "corrupt" with Benzino as its owner.

Benzino later retired, but still tried to harm Shady's reputation by deeming him a "racist." And Slim continued rapping smack:

Things eventually simmered-down, and the VH1 reality star ultimately apologized:

"I can say it now, I was wrong for it. Because at the end of the day, Em is a great lyricist and he should be able to express himself in hip-hop as anybody should" (via MTV).

And in a recent interview with Vlad TV, Benzino reveals his "beef" with Eminem is definitely a thing of the past:

"The whole Eminem beef was blown out of proportion... As far as I'm concerned people go at it all the time, but ours was just blown out of proportion. And I'm sure people can understand why. But that's behind me now. And I told him if I ever seen him I would love to get into a conversation with him, with Marshall. I would love to have some type of conversation. No matter what. What we went through is always gonna be history. Always. He's an incredible lyricist. There's no question about it."

Not surprising - Shady has yet to respond to Benzino on either Twitter or Instagram. He's currently focused on his upcoming Shady XV album release. But the best way to squash such hostile feelings - perhaps a crazy collaboration!
